Following on from the thread on how to use the sector scanner, I have been having a go at this, but it seems impossible to actually reach the objects shown on the display...
I've seen ruined this and wrecked that... but how do I get to it. I can zero in the angle to around 15 degrees and get a range of around 1 million K's, but there seems to be no way to bookmark and warp to the object.
I tried using scanner probes in threes, but they will only search for ships, not objects...
Anyone got any tips on how best to go about this?

I'm not actually after an instant win ticket, just a bit of advice on how to get a bit closer to the objects I am seeing so I can go explore Eve a little bit more.
Here is the situation. I'm in 1.0 sector space. I can narrow the field of my search down between two opposite points 5au apart.
One is a planet and one is a station. From the station, facing the scanner "north" I can see some kind of wreckage and stuff... I can get this setting the range to 1mil and the angle to 30 degres although sometimes I can also see it at 15 degrees.
The other is a moon, if I warp to there from the above station location, turn and face the scanner "south" I can see the object there.
Clearly the object is between these two points.
Problem - I cannot find a way of breaking warp once I am on my way... I warp, I press stop in the middle of warp, it says ship stopping, but in fact the ship doesn't stop until I reach the warp destination - which misses my target...
If I start at point 1 (the station) and simply set sail in a shuttle in roughly the right direction, will I eventually get there? Can you sail between the planets, or is it not in the game mechanics and in reality you are not going anywhere except away from the station?
The ideal would be to break into warp, but I cannot find a way to do this... I thought this was possible to create a safe spot, but either this has been changed or its something else...
Looking for help here really in the way of doing things, not actually looking for an instant win, just want to have some fun and look at some of this stuff I can see on the scanner but cannot seem to get too :(

But can you actuall sail your ship out of warp towards something that is not listed on the scanner by distance...
Say it is somewhere 'over there' possibly up to a 1 mill k's from my postion. How long would it take to get there in a shuttle?
Could it actually be done? Or will I simply sail on into space and never get there - reference my original question, can this be done within the game mechaincs?

So.... Not such a hot idea then... Best bet is to hop in and out of warp using the bookmarks in warp idea....
How the hell does anyone find anything in this game...?

Still, I have heard talk from people on this board that they can find these large colidable objects... I can see cool things like Caldari wall and barrior and stuff like that.... but although I can break warp and zap into the inbetween places, I cannot seem to get near the cool stuff...
How in heavens name is everyone else doing it?
